ROCAN has advised Google on the German Federal Cartel Office’s investigation regarding Google’s data processing conditions, including on Google’s commitments to the Federal Cartel Office. The proceeding was based on Germany’s new regulation for large digital companies (Section 19a ARC). It is the first case involving Section 19a ARC in which the Federal Cartel Office took a formal decision leading to obligations for a digital company.
ROCAN advised Google together with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. More on the case here.
